The winners!

Sorry for the delay but Happy Losar everybody! The past few days have been pretty exciting for me. I'm apparently in a state of an uptight time-frame within which I need to meet a whole lot of targets. It's crazy but I'm still surviving.

To announce the winners for my second edition of the so-called monthly contest, I had previously planned on capturing the procedure with a video clip so that all of you and the participants know that everything is done fairly without me being bias. Please take note that my personal relationships with the people who've participated has nothing to do with them winning or not winning. But unfortunately, because of the very less time that I have with me I couldn't possibly sit down and do this. And already I was lagging behind so much that I could not afford to stretch it any further.

Anyhoo, so the response has been wonderful. As if all of you took heed to my qualms about very less Kathmanduites participating, this time it was you guys from KTM who took the most effort to get that handbag. Thank you guys. You guys were great!

The winners!

Since there was only one participant from NY who took part in the contest and also answered the question correctly, we have a clear winner and that's Sonam. Congratulations, you win the lovely button-down sweater. Please contact Yankey through facebook to claim your prize.

There were four participants from KTM and all of them gave me the right answer. Yes it is Chanel 2.55 and I'd love to own this classic bag one day, one fine day.
I made four chits for the four participants, folded them and laid them between my palms and asked my dad to pick one. He chose the one on which I'd written Ujeena Rana.
Congratulations, you win the bag!

I hope all of you had fun being a part of this contest. I did. Thank you for being so excited about it and thank you for encouraging others to take part in it.

See you in the next contest, until then stay happy and live life to the fullest!

quiz 102

So here we go again. I'm finally bringing to you the monthly contest to make you win - let's not say amazing, that'd be an overstatement - some fashionable articles. Seemed like the first one was a tad bit difficult for my readers to digest although I tried to make it as simple as possible yet a little interesting. I guess keeping it very very simple would be more interesting since it's actually not about the question but about the prize. So I'll try and make this a little simpler so that more readers have the chances of winning this time.

                                                               For New Yorkers

"There is something about fashion that can make people very nervous."

In the September Issue, a feature length documentary of the making of Vogue's September issue, who said the above lines?

The prize: A floral knitted sweater to accompany you this Spring.

For Kathmanduites

Which famous bag does the handbag (the prize to this question) pictured below resemble?
  1. Chanel 2.55
  2. Alexander Wang's Diego Bag
  3. Birkin bag by Herm├Ęs

The prize: This tweed handbag, a gift from my cousin. I've always loved it but there was never an occasion appropriate enough to carry it and I think one of you will make better use of it.

Contest closes on February 18th!
And the criteria is that you will need to follow the blog =)
This time around, there is a time frame so hurry up and post your answers at the comment box below. Oh man, I seem like one of those funny ads that we hear on the radio or at hilarious shows on the television.

By the way, happy valentine's week. May all of you be with your loved ones this Valentine's day and of course a day cannot be segregated to appreciate the beautiful people in your life but if a day can make your heart filled with joy and happiness and remind you to be grateful of the people for being by your side then why not just celebrate the goddamn day and forget about everything that's anonymous to happiness and love.

Don't stress too much. Take a breather and make time to smile more often.

...and that's a wrap!

While in India, what I missed most about Nepal was the food. There is nothing like the food you've been eating throughout your life. And there is no replacing a plate of Nepali Thali. I was a big time Dal-bhat fan ever since I learnt to chew and I've devoured it throughout my life.

More often than not, good food is what makes life much more fun and serves as a great reason to meet with friends and go out and have a good laugh over the silly things in life. You won't believe this but few years back  I used to deem food as a burden. I'd think to myself why people need to eat. I'd suggest that there shouldn't be a feeling such as hunger; without hunger there would be no urge to eat, no food. And then I met friends who were foodies and who loved the idea of indulging in tasteful food. Their indulgence rubbed off on me and now I'm a proud foodie too. Whatever you got just bring it on the table, I'm your lady!

These sets of photos come from that evening when I went to grab a wrap of Falafel with my friends at Thamel but I don't have any photos to share. That's a shame!

And it happens to be a Dragon year this year. Bought these grotesque earrings from India.
Say hello to my new boots from Envy. I love every little detail of it. It helps that it's super comfy!

I will soon be coming up with the second edition of the monthly quiz so do look forward to participating. Yankey and I have more great prizes to give away =)

Tomorrow's going to be a great Friday for me and I'll update all of you on the evening.
Till then, happy Thursday!
